We are looking for a driven and committed candidate who exhibits enthusiasm for performing accounting activities and can elevate the role to the next level by thinking out of the box and applying analytical and strategic thinking. Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading the accounting team member/members in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements and reporting package for CMI or Group Companies.
- Assist Controller in month end review of general ledger account reconciliations and ensure properly supported. Lead month end monitoring for completion of tasks and month end close meetings.
- Support the Controller in establishing accounting processes and controls, such as account reconciliations and process documentation.
- Support a strong internal control environment to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with accounting standards and legal, regulatory and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure all HST filings and tax installments are completed as per deadlines.
- Prepare Audit Schedules for the year end and support the audit process. Assist the Controller in the review of external audit reports and tax returns.
- Grow in understanding of the financial systems towards become subject matter expert. Support Chart of Accounts.
- For the smaller group companies, review budgets/forecasts, cash flow analysis and support the business partners in financial review, analysis and guidance.
- Identify and implement process improvements for the accounting function.
- Serve as the main point of contact in all matters related to group companies and needs.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience required performing the job:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA designation.
- 1– 2 years of previous experience in supervisory role.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Excel
- Customer service oriented, possess tact and judgment in dealing with complex and demanding customers.
- Respond to tight deadlines during regular and peak periods and to last-minute demands and requirements.
- Ability to multi-task, organize, detail-oriented, and prioritize tasks.
- Strong judgment and decision-making ability.
- Possess analysis and problem-solving skills.
