Reports to: CBARR Supervisor
Grade: A0:06
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: $46,987 to $58,734 annually (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Permanent Full-Time
Closing Date: October 11, 2024

Position Summary

UHN Corporate Billing & Accounts Receivable & Registration (CBARR) is a high-volume, fast-paced department responsible for revenue through billing and collection. The Clerical Assistant IV plays a crucial role in supporting a wide range of activities, with a strong emphasis on customer service and administrative tasks.

Duties

  • Liaise professionally with insurers, patients, support workers, and the clinical team.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure timely reception and submission of billing files.
  • Review patient data accuracy, including chart reviews, prior to billing.
  • Ensure optimal customer service by timely collecting, verifying, and correcting patient demographic data.
  • Handle patient calls, emails, and messages received in Epic.
  • Manage the mailing of patient statements.
  • Perform administrative activities across all CBARR portfolios.
  • Perform other duties related to the position as required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Business Administration or Accounting diploma required OR equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum of 1 year working experience with preference in a healthcare environment
  • Ability to discuss Financial coverage with patients and/or family members
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced time sensitive environment with minimal direction
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and satisfaction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Epic system experience preferred
