POSITION:

The Clinical Electrophysiology Technologist in Electrophysiology will work with the team to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to deliver safe and efficient patient care and outcomes. These procedures will include but not be limited to Exercise and Pharmacologic Stress Testing and Holter Monitoring and Pacemaker/Defibrillator programming. Responsibilities will include safe operation and troubleshooting of equipment, manual and electronic documentation and patient care activities as required to achieve results. The technologist will practice in a collaborative team and patient centered way. The technologist will comply with departmental and hospital policies and practice in a competent manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At minimum, completion of a recognized 3 year community college Cardiac Technologist program
    BSc
  • CSCT (Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists) registration
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S)
  • Minimum 1 year experience related to Cardiac dignostic testing in a similar setting
  • Previous experience in holter recording and scanning; exercise ECG testing
  • Previous experience with pacemaker and defibrillator programming
  • Ability to work full shift wearing mask and lead aprons
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills
  • Effective time management skills, ability to organize work and set priorities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Ability to work as an autonomous professional
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment
