Machine Operator

Fybon Nonwovens, a division of VPC Group Inc., is looking for an experienced Machine Operatorto support our polyester fibre manufacturing operation in Brampton, ON.

Technical

  • Learn and adapt quickly
  • Mechanical aptitude– strong understanding and working knowledge with pulleys, drive systems, speeds relative to each other
  • Mathematical skills, understanding and ability to set parameters (Grade 12 minimum math level)
  • Ability to think and act logically
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and troubleshoot technical problems
  • Process orientated with a technical aptitude
  • Forklift license an asset
  • Computer savvy – must be able to use Microsoft Outlook, experience using ERP system an asset
  • General maintenance including lubrication, checking for wear and tear, and proactively report on and replace parts as necessary

Communication

  • Strong command of the English language (must be able to read, write and speak fluently)
  • Ability to present information and discuss alternatives with management
  • Ability to engage line workers and provide direction in manner that is understood by different personalities

Leadership

  • Provide direction to line workers
  • Must have initiative to report on production status and issues (and solutions) to Manager/Supervisor

Criteria:

  • 2-4 years’ of mechanical work experience preferred
  • 2-4 years’ experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be dependable, trustworthy and value accountability
  • Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, or holiday shifts as needed
